These terms cover the Meal Motive app and this website. Meal Motive is provided by [OWNER NAME, OR BUSINESS NAME AND ABN] ("we"). By using the app, you agree to them.
What Meal Motive is, and isn't
Meal Motive scores packaged food and helps you keep a food diary. Scores, better choices, alerts and energy estimates are a general guide. They are not medical, dietary or allergy advice. Always read the pack, especially if you have an allergy or a medical condition, and talk to a doctor or an Accredited Practising Dietitian about your own diet.
Food data comes from Open Food Facts, a public database anyone can edit. It may be incomplete or wrong, and a product's recipe may change after its details were recorded.
Your account
You must be 13 or older to make an account. Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what's done with your account. You can delete it at any time from the Account screen, or at /delete-account.
Products you add
When you add or correct a product, you let us store it in your account and, if it's reviewed and approved, use it to improve the food database for everyone. Only add information that's accurate and that you're allowed to share.
Meal Motive Plus
Plus is an optional subscription, bought through the App Store or Google Play. The store takes payment, and its terms apply to the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. A free trial, if offered, becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Everything that is free in Meal Motive today (scanning, scores, the diary, water, badges and better choices) is not part of Plus.
Fair use
Don't misuse the app or the website: don't try to access other people's data, disrupt the service, or copy the database in bulk.
Our liability
We work to keep Meal Motive accurate and available, but we provide it "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss that comes from relying on a score, a food record or an estimate. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If you keep using Meal Motive after a change, you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of [STATE], Australia.
